Nordstrom comes to Pacific Centre Mall in Vancouver

Last week, Nordstrom confirmed that they will be opening up a flagship store in Vancouver’s Pacific Centre Mall in the spring of 2015.
The US based retail department store is expected to occupy 230,000 square foot, with three levels of shopping space. Nordstrom will replace the current Sears store at Pacific Centre and will represent the largest Canadian Nordstrom store.
Construction will commence this November, adding 280,000 sq. ft. of premium office space to the Downtown Vancouver area. Consumers can expect to see features such as two atriums, 17 foot ceilings, and a landscaped rooftop with the introduction of the Vancouver Nordstrom location.

With floor plans and designs inspired by New York and Chicago based commercial centres, it’s no surprise that the construction and redevelopment of the current site is projected to be valued in the multi-million dollar range.
For Canadian consumers, the opening of a local Nordstrom department store will reduce the need to travel south to shop.
